Christmas Time

Christmas is such a fun, beautiful time of year. It seems to pass by too quickly. This year was different with a baby, but in a good way. Justin and I picked out our own ‘big’ presents and bought each other a whole bunch of little things as the surprises. It wasn’t as much fun this way, but we did get what we wanted. I got a cricut (a pink one even!) during my midnight black Friday shopping spree, and Justin bought himself another shotgun…supposedly different then all the others, at least that’s what he claims. Kambri got a Jumperoo, which we opened early, but hey she’ll never know. We were very blessed and I can honestly say I got everything I wanted this Christmas.

Merry Christmas!

Kambri with Santa 001

We’re headed to Savior of the World tonight. I love the spirit that that play brings to the holidays. I’ve seen it several years in a row and it always seems to touch me and remind me why we celebrate Christmas. We’re also going to try to walk around temple square for a few minutes first. I haven’t done that for a while so I’m excited to see all the lights and colors.

Last but not least ALL of my shopping is done! That has never happened this early. No more stress this year… that sounds wonderful.

Talking

Three Months

Kambri is three months old today. It feels like it flew by, but also it’s hard to remember what it was like without her. We celebrated by hanging in our pjs in bed most of the day (since I am no longer working this seems like an acceptable way to spend the day occasionally, haha). I took some pictures and videos to commemorate the moment, she somewhat played along giving me all sorts of question mark faces, scowls, and smiles.

So far Kambri is our serious girl, she smiles easily but they are just as easily forgotten and replaced by a curious face or a scowl. She can be found studiously studying things, still trying to figure out this big world, even if it’s something as small as a window. She is extremely stiff. My mom said Kali was like that and she was walking by 8 months, so we’ll have to see if that means anything. I can get her to sit, but I seriously have to bend her legs first. She still loves that food, she goes into a trance-like this is heaven state while eating, and she is still sleeping at least 8 hours at night. I love catching her watching me, concentrating so hard at studying my face or what I’m doing. People interest her a lot more than toys. She has such beautiful big eyes and chunky cheeks. We sure do love this baby!

These aren’t great quality but here was our day:

Then she got bored of the camera and went back to her friend, Mr. Peacock.
