Beautiful

I ran across these thoughts on another blog and they were perfect for how I often feel.

"Living where I do, it is easy to feel like an ant in an ant hill.

Hi, my name is [Jodi] and I'm a stay at home mom and an active member of my Church.

...Just like nearly every single woman on my street, in my neighborhood, in my town, in my state.

I am one of the ninety and nine
I'm not perfect, but basically I'm doing fine
I have not lost my way, I have not gone astray
I'm just one of the ninety and nine

It's easy to feel lost in the crowd. To feel like nothing I do is highly significant. I'm not the beacon on a hill that I might be if I lived elsewhere. People don't need my example, because they already do what I do, often better than I do.

I am here in the heart of the fold
I'm not mindless, but I try to do as I'm told
I'm not tempted to run
and become the lost one
I am here in the heart of the fold

But then the thought came to me that, yes, "I am one of the ninety and nine", and that's okay. If it weren't for people like me there would be no fold. There is someone who thinks my contribution is significant. HE knows that being one of the ninety and nine isn't easy. HE knows I am making the conscious decision to be faithful. HE thinks I stand out, and sees me differently from every other sheep in the fold.

You are one of the ninety and nine
Have you any idea how brightly you shine?
You are safe in his fold
and it's time you were told
That I know where you've been so I know where you'll be
Because all of your life you've been following me
You are more than just one of the sands of the sea
Or just one of the ninety and nine
You are mine.

Don't Judge

Deliciousness comes in all flavors...

Even Chair. Mmmmm.

After all, we've got some new chompers to keep sharpened.

Babies are entertaining....to say the least.

First Rodeo

We love the rodeos! We took Kambri to the Lehi Round Up Rodeo, where we had some awesome seats! She did really well, minus about five minutes in the middle where she decided she was tired and going to compete with the noise going on around us. Everyone turned around trying to figure out what we were doing to our baby. Oh well, after that she was a perfect angel... asleep that is ;).

4th of July Decorating

I finally got around to putting up some 4th of July stuff. I know it's only a couple of weeks away, but with this colder weather it's almost easy to forget!

Here's our front entry

The flowers and vase are from Rod Works. I love sunflowers for summer!

The America sign is from this site. I raided it last year for 4th of July decorations. I feel like their prices are alright.

The wreath I made last night. I found this tutorial and thought it was a great idea. It doesn't take a whole lot of fabric and it's easy, my kind of decoration!

I cut the fireworks at the bottom there, with the cricut this morning and added some red, blue, and white paper behind them. I still have the file if anyone wants it.

The cute printable that you can't quite see in the corner is from here.

The stacked boxes and bird house garland are from the terrys village site listed above.

And I made a small version of the rag wreath to go around the candle on the table.

I made yet another rag wreath for this area. Eh, I already admitted I'm lazy and all the fabric was already out, why make something else? ;)

I also made this declaration of independence decoration last night. Justin likes it quite a bit. I printed out the declaration, found here, and modge podged it onto a piece of wood. Then I busted out some watercolor paint and used a mixture of brown and black to get the color around the edges. I finished by sanding it a tiny bit and adding a bow. Nice and easy.

I love these flowers, they remind me of fireworks!

Pretty sure most of this stuff was from rod works. Though I have been contemplating taking the other plain white towel I have and adding some appliqued stars...we'll see.

Now it feels like summer around here!

4 Years

Yesterday was our Fourth anniversary....going on forever.

Amazing part is--We still like each other, in fact I would say our relationship is stronger than ever. I am a lucky lady. I've got a guy who really wants to know how I'm feeling, and who's not afraid to work things through right when they happen (even if I want him to leave me alone). He loves hugs and holding my hand, and I am often treated to delicious homemade dinners and massages. He can fix anything and is very creative at making things work, even when most people would give up. He is turning into a great daddy. He knows just what to say and never forgets to tell me he loves me. He is constantly serving others and is a great provider. I love spending hours just talking to him....though we are starting to sound an awful lot like each other.

I am very happy I chose this guy.

We made it a tradition to do temple sealings on our anniversary. Nothing better than remembering your vows, and that feeling of excitement, anticipation, and dedication.

Followed up by Texas Roadhouse & Kung Fu Panda 2.

Very nice evening indeed.

The city of Bikers

AKA: Moab.

We decided to head down to Moab for the weekend. It's been a while since I've been camping, and we have a perfectly good tent... which I'm afraid to use most of the time due to a phobia of being eaten by a bear. However, Moab has no bears that I know of and it has some pretty awesome hikes. We invited some friends and headed down on Friday.

The campground (first night)

Excited to Camp, woohoo!

Had to include a shot of our biker neighbors, this is what Moab has the most of, besides rocks.

I wish there was some way to get a picture of how awesome the stars were. There was this beautiful shot of Justin holding Kambri and pointing up, but it couldn't be done so you'll have to imagine. We also were lucky enough to see four shooting stars.

On Saturday we hiked Delicate Arch. The hike itself wasn't that bad, but boy did it get hot! We were constantly stopping to drink water or take a break in whatever shade we could find.

Getting Ready to Start

Deciding it's way too much effort to stay awake in this heat.

The Guys & Babies

See the red face & forced smile? Time for a break...

Ahhh yes, life is feeling better after a cool refreshment.

We Made it!

All of Us

We headed back to camp and hung out in the shade.

Played a little

Made some delicious tinfoil dinners and S'mores and headed to bed.

On Sunday we hit Dead Horse Point

Kambri figured out how to remind her dad who was boss. "Giddy up Da Da we ain't got all day"

Beautiful Scenery

And an awesome trip! Thanks Becca, Brady, and Baby Titan for joining us on our camping excursion!

The results are in...

The answer, this time, was..........Sleep.

Yep our baby was a bit tired, thus the orneriness. I'm about half way through This awesome book, and even after one night of using some of the suggestions she is so much happier! Which makes mommy much happier as well :).

By the way I found out that you can lend Kindle books out to other people (just like they were real books), so if anyone wants to borrow it you're welcome to. You don't have to have a kindle, you can also read it on your computer or smart phone with the free amazon kindle programs.
