ReFashion

I have three sisters. They are all the same size as me. And they all have just as many clothes that for one reason or another they are attached to and won’t get rid of, but don’t wear anymore. Saturdays Justin works at the temple and rather than being bored I thought we should have a refashion party! I have seen so many ideas on blogs, and I’m poor now so I wanted to give it a try.

We made piles of stuff we wanted to keep and work on and piles we didn’t care about for scraps, I mean… possible works of art!

The babies were kept occupied…Mostly by my mom. Thanks Mom!!!

Stef made one of these that turned out pretty cute:

These pants originally looked like this…bell bottoms purchased 5 or 6 years ago.

And the result (with a knotted t-shirt that took like five minutes!):

The Knot.

A quick and easy embellished sweater. I used the sleeves, they kept pulling down the sweater anyway.

I decided it would be easier (as in wouldn’t have to take a million to get one I like) to just focus on the shirts…thus the chopped off head. Though Koda was caught licking himself in this one. I almost kept it all just for that.

 

We had a blast and it was so easy! It did help that my mom had all the colors of thread and two sewing machines available.

 

Some skirts, several shirts, and a few pairs of pants. I would call it a success.

Three is a lucky number

For Summer that is. Yesiree we have another three puppies!

I’m excited about these three though.

We’ve had a total of six (now nine) puppies from Koda and Summer.

3 Brown (varying shades) Males

2 White puppies, one male, one female, both adorable.

1 Black puppy with a brown muzzle, female

This time We got (drumroll please)…

Different than we’ve ever had before.

1 Black Male, with a white chest

1 Dark Brown female, with a black muzzle….beautiful

And another white female. But our last was my favorite so I’m excited about that.

They may end up looking a little like these three:

It made me happy

Looking at these this morning. Didn’t they turn out beautiful? I could look at them all day rather than the winter we still have outside.

Mimic

So I read a few days ago that my baby will probably start imitating faces, noises, and expressions. I thought I would test it out.

I stuck my tongue at her. A few seconds later she stuck hers out right back at me. She got so excited. A new trick.

And guess what hasn’t gone back in her mouth since?

I’ll probably regret it once she starts to spit. But how cute is that?

She looks so happy about it.

 

Love these blue eyes. I’m guessing they’ll turn green pretty soon so I’d better enjoy them while they’re so bright.

Day of Love

I woke up to this package:

And this note:

“I want to thank my wife for making me a better man, a better friend, and a better father. This valentine's day I just want to let her know that i love her and I have never been happier in my life then this time we are sharing now. :) I love you sweetheart.”

Seriously, a great start to a great day.

I blasted the house with these little guys:

So that he would find them all over when he come home. Along with his favorite treat- snickerdoodle cookies! Yucky, but hey they are all for him and he loved them.

The night was completed with a stop at Teppanyaki Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi bar. They cook your food at your table! It was awesome.

Grandma Smile

This is Kambri’s latest thing that makes me laugh. Her grandma smile. With little hair and no teeth she is a great impersonator!

She is teething though, poor thing. I gave her some Tylenol and she totally zonked out.

This is what I did during her zonkage time:

Not sure yet if I love it, but it only took about 45 minutes, a piece of wood, and some vinyl & paint I already had.

The little one will probably be up soon, so I better head off!

Thud

I have been really lucky to be able to stay home this winter. Winter lasts far too long in my opinion, but it’s not so bad just looking at it through the window.

Because I’m home most of the day hearing a large Thud on the window is slightly alarming. Opening the blinds revealed this:'

Some sort of bird, who apparently enjoys winter (I personally would have gone south), hit my window!

There were thousands of them. They are the kind that fly together and make all sorts of neat shapes. It was fun to watch them for a bit.

Then I sicked Koda on them.

See them all by that house? And there’s teeny tiny Koda. He thinks he’s big.

 

Still no more progress on moving around for Kambri. But here she is looking cute.

 

I only look like I might move here.

Wish I could grab/eat that toy…

Maybe I’ll just stare it down.
