5 Puppies...

I never thought we'd have that many! But just this morning Summer (who was having a hard time fitting past her door anymore) had one white male, one white female, one dark brown female, one light brown male, and one tiny black male...Awww. That makes Koda and Summer's offspring 21 now, crazy.
So excited to play with this 'pack'- literally- of adorable puppies!

We've been keep track of our puppies (except the first litter unfortunately) and have some fun pics,

This was our little black male from a year ago (sparrow). What a cool looking dog he's turning out to be!

Adolescent Lilly, she'll probably look more like sugar in another year

I'm so excited to gather more pics of our puppies as they grow. I'm especially curious about the dark brown puppies we've had.

Look at all our fun litters so far!

Almost Gone

I can't believe how quickly these little guys grew up! Puppies are so fun....we don't even see them for the first few weeks, get to enjoy their super cuteness for the next few, and then they're gone before they need to be trained. I love their excitement for life, they just bring a smile to everybody's face.

I love their adorable tails

possibly our prettiest puppy, it's a close one with a few of my other fav's

I think we got our smallest and biggest puppies ever (both on the right)

Kambri loves this gal

September 1st

August 31st is like Christmas Eve to my husband. He gets so excited he can't sleep, just like a little boy. Every year on this night he is full of anticipation.

September 1st starts the hunting season.

More specifically he is a bird hunter. I went with him today. He went yesterday and got a few so he was alright with the fact that I am more of a 'nature walker' and take my time. I need constant breaks and a little pushing and pulling along, some carrying even. He went slow, held my hand, and bushwacked for me. It's fun to get out once in a while, even if we did not see one bird.

I felt pretty safe following this guy and his large gun.

If you look close you can see Justin's Brittany Spaniel, Autumn. Named for her favorite time of the year she is an excellent bird dog.

Ruger: our biggest dumb dog who gallops when he runs.

Below: Bushwacking necessary.

Even though we didn't seen one bird we did catch a fish.

At this cute little creek, called Bennie Creek up Payson Canyon. Justin pulled out his fly fishing gear and we had a 9 incher within two minutes. He was still a little guy so we didn't keep him. Instead we went out for seafood ;)

Funny Puppy

I have been meaning to get this on camera for a long time now. You see, Koda pees with both back legs in the air, he does a sort of doggy handstand-if you will-and proceeds to walk. It's no effort at all, just watch below. He can go for much longer than this, especially in the snow, but this is all I got so far...

Adios

Goodbye Cute puppies. You have been fun! But I'm sure you'll have a lot more fun with your new families that have more time and people to love you then we do :)

Picnic Time

First project is complete!

I started with this idea....which I really liked. It's getting warmer and I would love to have something to lay Kambri on while I'm weeding, or have our own blanket to take to the park or an outdoor concert. The waterproof feature was an added bonus! I hate getting your pants wet or getting cold from a wet blanket.

A Trip to Hobby Lobby and Walmart later and I discovered fabric is dang expensive! I guess it must be one of those things that you stock up on here and there until you have a whole bunch you already own to choose from?? Even online it didn't get much less than 4$/yard for the cute fabrics. Hmmm....

So Walmart was selling quilted blankets, the kind that is really thin for the top of your bed, for $20. It was a King size and came in a matching bag, perfect for picnicking! I would have probably used about 5-6 yards of fabric, so it saved me a little to buy the blanket.

The pattern even reminded me of a spring/summer day outside.

I also picked up some batting and a couple of shower curtains for the back. I could not find tablecloths anywhere and shower curtains are basically the same material, right?

Justin helped me out. See him cutting? He also did a lot of sewing. He.is.awesome.

We cut down the king size about 15 inches to match the square batting size of 86x86. I used the extra fabric for the ties.

Koda was not helpful. But it must be comfy which is a good sign.

Make sure you go slow while sewing, we ended up breaking several needles.

We also pulled the border over the bottom so the plastic edges would be completely enclosed.

All done!

We had to test it out today. It was such a beautiful afternoon!

Silly puppies

Totally a success. I hope it holds up for quite a while.

Adorable

That is the definition of these puppies. They'll be ready on Easter Weekend. Wouldn't they look cute in someone's Easter basket?

Here's the girls.

And the little guy.

Doesn't he look just like our last little girl? Here's his sister (6 mos ago)

And with Mom, Summer (who decided she's tired of them and would be soooo happy if someone came and got them along with their sharp little teeth).

Puppies are so much fun!
