Funny Puppy

I have been meaning to get this on camera for a long time now. You see, Koda pees with both back legs in the air, he does a sort of doggy handstand-if you will-and proceeds to walk. It's no effort at all, just watch below. He can go for much longer than this, especially in the snow, but this is all I got so far...

What did I get myself into?

Today I asked myself this question many times. Who was I to think I could handle a baby? Such a busy little person? I don't remember anyone telling me how ridiculously hard kids can be!

Here's what I woke up to:

A happy, mobile baby, getting into anything and Everything she could find. Opening cabinets, grabbing all sorts of unbaby-proofed items, pants on the ground, pulling herself to a stand just to fall over and bonk her head. Que Crying.

And Crying. And even more crying. Where in the world did my content predictable little girl go?

Is she teething? Getting older and changing schedules? Needing more food? More sleep? I have no idea.

She follows me around whining like this,

If I don't pick her up she turns into a tiny angry little person,

Even if I do I often still get this sad face,

Don't get me wrong, I love this little girl. But sometimes you've just gotta wonder "Holy Crap, What did I get myself into?"

....Love this face :), I've got to just keep remembering that.

This little one

is getting so Excited to walk! She just shrieks with joy every time someone holds her hands and helps her along. She is getting super speedy at crawling, and if you don't make the first move she will crawl over and grab your fingers to help herself up. She is a pro at moving those little feet. Definitely time to start seriously baby-proofing.

Alright, I made One

A piece of jewelry that is. Today I decided to try one of these:

They seemed easy enough. I've had it saved to do for quite a while, and I bought the little plastic crystal things the last time I was at hobby lobby for 80 cents for two. 40 Cents for this necklace, not a bad price at all.

The tutorial can be found Here.

Here's how mine turned out:

I'd say it took approximately two minutes to do. I just used modge podge to stick it on there, but be careful not to get it everywhere. I need to buy some prettier claspy things. Theirs are much better than the one I found stuck to another necklace I never wear.

And done, nice.

Kambri likes it too.

Silly Girl.

Things I do now because I have time.

I have to admit it's been a little strange not to have a paying job. I do consider being a mom a job of sorts, but there are no set hours or very many places I have to be. So, even though it is not a cake walk by any means, I have really enjoyed being able to do things I would never have had time or energy for before.

First, I actually planned a few dates. Fun dates. Inexpensive dates. The website, if you missed it on my Favorite things list, is Here.

The first was a double date/dinner with some friends. It was a CSI date. Justin made a delicious steak/potato/corn on the cob dinner and I planned the activity. I used This idea. Here is what they walked up to on our front porch (this is the original, not ours, I didn't take a picture of the actual crime scene, which is too bad because it was awesome!)

Here was OUR victim. Dead in the sink because I'm unsure what to do with him yet, haha.

Then we played a little solve the mystery game to figure out who killed our poor bunny friend. It was so easy to set up, mostly just printing stuff off.

We ended with a Strawberry shortcake dessert and an episode of Psych (a comedy Mystery TV Show, which we LOVE!) Everyone seemed to have a pretty good time :).

Next I planned a date for just Justin and I. The idea can be found here. It's centered around the new Pirates Movie coming out.

First I planned a little treasure hunt. I used their website to translate sentences into 'Pirate' and a copy of an old parchment paper to print them on. He really had fun trying to figure out the clues, because I did not make them easy. Then we ate Fish fillets, popcorn shrimp, and homeade Fries. So yummy. After he found the 'treasure', which was full of treats for watching the movie, we set up a kiddie pool as our 'boat' and filled it with pillows and blankets. We then watched the first movie. Afterward we made pina colada sorbet. Such a fun night!

More things I now have time for:

I decided I was tired of my early spring decorations, we're half way through May, so it's almost summer! Here is what I whipped up the other day.

Another cute printable. It can be found Here. However, my printer ink was running low on Yellow, so I had to cut it out on the cricut rather than print it. I actually like it a little better this way. But the printable is still really cute too (and much easier!)

This is to match the printable. I used all the same paper.

Fruit is good for May/June right?

This was a decoration that said 'home sweet home' in a light yellow and brown. I never liked it, so I re-vamped it.

Here's a fun idea. Buy a cheap white towel and add ric-rac. Easy and it matches all the other stuff I made.

I also tried a homeade card. I really like how it turned out :)

So Fun. Though now that it's warm it's probably time to move on to the yard work. Wahoo! I also bought a baby sign language book. I like the idea but we'll see if I actually take the time to learn it myself. So that is to be continued....

So it Begins...

My baby decided she is no longer happy just rolling to and fro, basically staying in one place.

World (or at least the hallway), Here I come.

Look Mom, no more leaving me behind!

You know what this means...

The happiest little caged monkey I've seen.

Don't get me wrong, rolling and squishing into strange positions is still a favorite.

So happy to be mobile!

A Much Needed Trip

I finally got a vacation! My dad was going down to Mexico for a day or two anyway so we tagged along.

Weds 5/4- Drop off my baby. Hope that she does well. Very sad to leave her for the first time this long.
-Drive 10 1/2 hours to the Oceanside, CA condo
-Walk the pier just outside the condo and find an Italian place where we eat outside and watch the sun set on all the boats. Very pretty.
-Sleep

Thurs 5/5-
-Drive to Newport Beach/Balboa Island

We ferried our car across the bay

Spent some time on the beach

Tried to get something usable to put in a frame. Didn't really succeed.

Looked for Sand Crabs

All around did nothing

After a few hours of that we had lunch and went on a Boat Harbor Tour. I wanted to do a whale watching tour but we missed them by about three weeks.

Most of these homes cost upwards of $10 million. Our guide pointed out quite a few owned by celebrities/very wealthy business people (i.e. Vanna white, Mrs. Field, Kobe Bryant, Chuck Norris, Shirley Temple, etc.)

I just thought this one was pretty. I could never live here, my history of potted plants proves that.

And of course we couldn't leave the island without a ride on the Ferris Wheel!

After our day trip we dropped my dad off at the border and headed back to the condo.

Friday 5/6- Disneyland. Yay!

I found a program that would minimize your expected wait time for rides and give you a schedule to follow. It worked very nicely. We waited twice for 25 minutes and every other ride was under 15 minutes. We walked right in for several of them.

The only picture we took of us there. It was a very busy day to get both parks in.

I will say though that This is my favorite area:

Along with this one:

This was by far our favorite ride (rode it three times and never waited more than 10 minutes!) Best Coaster E.V.E.R.

The Aladdin Musical saved my feet for 45 minutes, and was actually really well done!

Yep, they totally flew all around the audience for this song. Very impressive.

And This restaurant was absolutely amazing. They usually only take reservations, but they happened to have an open spot right when we walked in. I will say that it was very expensive. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was awesome. It felt like you were outside with the crickets chirping and the little boats from the pirates ride floating by.

Yes, Disneyland is good times.

We drove down to San Diego that night.

Saturday 5/7- Slept in.

Went to the San Diego Zoo. Justin was very excited about this.

Ate lunch at the treetop cafe

Took more pictures of flowers than animals

Though I did think this Giraffe was pretty

Bummed the tiger and her baby were hiding and the black panther was sleeping.

Drove down to Rosarito, Mexico.

Had an authentic Mexican Meal. Never knew I would actually like a stuffed chilli!

Watched movies.

Sunday 5/8- One last look at the beach.

And home we went!

Such a fun trip. So Short and long at the same time. I sure missed my baby!

I Have to say a few Thank you's too.

Josh & Andrea for taking Kambri. They did great, and we are glad she was safe and happy.
Becca & Brady for feeding our dogs. So nice not to have to worry about them!
Koda & Summer for the puppy money which made this vacation possible.

It's nice to be back, refreshed and ready to start all the normal stuff again.
