'Doggie'

My mom was nice enough to take Kambri while Justin and I went to the Salt Lake Temple to do our first live endowment. Such an interesting experience!

She took Kambri out back to see the chickens...she likes to say 'balk balk' when the chickens cluck, but got distracted by a dog instead :)

Walking home from Church

This was a few weeks ago, walking home today would have been pretty chilly with all the fresh snow!

I couldn't help but take a few pictures, such a nice grandpa to take the baby for a walk after she threw a huge fit in relief society :)

Baby Curls

I was secretly hoping we'd get a bit of this, Justin had a mass of soft curls as a baby. My hair has always been straight with a few weird bumps if I let it air dry. It looks like Kambri got a mix....straight in the front, curly in the back.

I'm excited for it to get a bit longer. Too bad she hates when I do her hair, bah.

Giddy-Up

So we got Kambri a rocking horse for Christmas. I knew she would love one, as most kids do at this age. And RC Willeys had them on clearance for $24. Sweet.

Christmas morning came and she gave a big "Ooooh" when she saw it but that was about it. It's still a little tall for her to get on and off by herself and it made her nervous to be so high off the ground.

Fast forward a few weeks. The horse had a spot for batteries underneath and I decided to see what happened when they were inserted. Que loud old banjo man voice, moving horse lips and swishing tail. "We're goin ridin ridin ridin, Giddy Up little COWBOY. Get that pony trottin! There will be no stoppin! Cuz when we hit that trail we'll be tellin cowboy tales! and a hootin and a hollarin all day, YEE HAW!"

Kambri was terrified.

I mean like quivering, wide eyed, bursts of sobs, this horse might snatch her and run away into the night terrified. I wish I had videoed it.

Luckily aunt Kali came over and started singing along and clapping and then all of a sudden that thing was awesome. Scary? Ha! She could handle it. She had learned the power of the on/off switch after all.

We've been ridin ever since. Giddy Up little cowgirl.

New Calling

I was just called to be a cubscout leader. Having only one brother seven years younger than me means I have no idea what I'm doing... This should be fun!

Parenting

"Why yes Mom I am doing exactly what you told me not to. What was it again you threatened to do about it?"

Ahhh Kambri....a.k.a. little stinker.

First Hockey Game

Kambri went to her first Grizzlies game on New Years Eve.

She actually watched about 90% of the game. I was so impressed I had to take a few pictures.

She did hang on tightly to that book....just in case the game got dull.

"Mom, what's with the light in my face? I'm going to miss this play!"

Crazy how our kids surprise us.

Christmas

I hope everybody had a Merry Christmas! We sure did over here.

Check out what Santa left for Kambri:

Well, some of those were for the rest of us too :). and yes I decided to only decorate half the tree, that baby battle just sounded exhausting :p.

Kambri was so much fun Christmas morning! She gave out a big "Oooooo" as she laid eyes on all those fun presents.

She jumped right into the tent:

And then hopped on the rocking horse:

After a little help with the first present she turned into a pro present opener. There was awesome stuff waiting under that paper! She also got a little people fairy treehouse, a baby belle, and a Violet the dog that says her name, along with some new books. She has had so much fun. That tent was such a good idea! Kambri likes to hang out in there, along with some of her stuffed friends.

And just for fun, another cute picture of Kambri and Dextin....at Lowe's this time.

Bring on the new year!

15 months

Kambri is over 15 months now, and I have to say she is getting more and more fun by the month.

Highlights at 15 Months:
  • Imitating me much more. She still takes some prompting but her memory is amazing now. The chicken says "ba ba", it's time for "nigh nigh", Koda and Summer are now "ga-ga", whenever she sees food she likes she gives a big smile and says "Mmm".
  • She will go and get me a new diaper if I ask. We're still working on getting her to change it herself, ha.
  • She carries around her baby or her stuffed animals and 'talks' to them and gives them kisses.
  • She insists a couple of times a day that we call her "da-da" on the phone.
  • She loves to pull things apart, rip them, or throw them on the floor (working on this)
  • She puts things away... where she thinks they should go. Today I found my belt, one of her books, a stuffed dragon, and a wrapper in one of the kitchen drawers.
  • She absolutely loves to read. We can go through 10 books and I get bored first...does that make me a bad parent? :)
  • She is as stubborn as can be. I believe I have met my match. You should have seen the outcome of our macaroni and cheese war. I thought she should eat it.. She didn't.. She won. It was a long 20 minutes.
  • She still hates clothes and accessories. I try to make her cute to go somewhere and by the time we get there she's taken off her shoes, socks, and anything in her hair. I think she would be completely naked if it was possible.
  • Boy oh boy can she scream like a girl.
But we love this little lady. She just makes me smile to watch her learn and grow and develop such an attitude.

And of Course She wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Did I mention she hates big scary men?
